Jaramillo was born in Tingo del Ponaza, in the San Martin region of Peru, in 1972. His love of drawing began at a young age, and he quickly decided that he wanted to become an artist. Jaramillo attended the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes del Perú and later specialized in graphic design at the ABACO Institute. He also worked with serigraphy at Asesores Tecnicos Industriales.

The artist credits the teachers at his school with influencing his early work. As time elapsed and he experimented with oils, Jaramillo developed a unique style which he defines as expressionistic. His works are in galleries throughout the Americas and Europe and also grace many private collections. Jaramillo is currently married and is the proud father of a little girl.
